- Description
- The purpose of this notice is to inform industry that ED anticipates a modification to an existing contract. The contract number is ED-07-CO-0062. The purpose of this modification is to produce an additional 10-15 Research Perspectives & Briefs on various topics. The contractor will develop, produce and disseminate a series of What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) evidence reports, to be named Research Perspectives, Research Briefs, and Practice Briefs. Research Perspectives use highly skilled and experienced researchers' perspectives on what research has found will work in addressing pressing educational issues, supported by a WWC review of the research that is cited by these researchers to assess its consistency with WWC evidence standards. Research Briefs are educator-friendly short reports of objective summaries of what research indicates about the effectiveness and implementation challenges of a policy, practice, or issue in education. Briefs draw on rigorous studies that meet WWC standards, as well as correlational studies and case studies, and take a broad view of what is currently known about the policy, practice, or issue being studied. The Briefs also assess the level of research evidence of whether the policy or practice improves outcomes using WWC Practice Guide standards. Practice Briefs provide explicit information on how to implement one practice from a WWC Practice Guide, and will provide educators with research-based, how-to steps and strategies for overcoming roadbloacks, and tools for educators. The contractor will produce 10-15 Research Perspectives under tight time constraints within a period of 13-15 weeks.
