Description
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is requesting information and conducting market research of Stand Off Detection (SOD) systems for the screening of passers-by in the non-sterile area of the airport. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is requesting information and conducting market research of Stand Off Detection (SOD) systems for the screening of passers-by in the non-sterile area of the airport. The preliminary goal for the SOD is a system capable of detecting explosives concealed on the bodies of passers-by in the non-sterile area of the airport without interrupting the flow of traffic in the stream of commerce. These threat objects include a wide variety of military, commercial, and homemade explosives or explosives devices. TSA invites voluntary participation to provide information on capabilities of detection technologies to determine the viability of current industry solutions for the secure processing of passengers’ footwear. Please see attached complete announcement.
