- Description
- 17 April 09- The purpose of this modification is to post some questions from intrested vendors and answers from the customer in addition to the solicitation. #1 I see "place of performance" Travis AFB. does this mean that the repairs must take place at Travis? No transportation is for the transport of the truck to and from Travis AFB. #1A Because I also see 0003-aa "transportation to and from Travis, to include all permits required" which to me looks like it may be done off site? No on site repair capability and it is the vendors responsibility to transport the fire truck #3 If done off site, does transportation days count as 7 day completion dead line? No, time is expected to be only a couple hours each way. #4 Can repairs be done on weekend if done onsite? Not available #5 To bid some items we would need to I.D. the parts.= belts and filters. If the ones on truck cannot be reused they must replace them. If they can be reused then they would reuse them there is no way of identifying this. we would need to provide a complete engine break down and that is the vendors responsibility. We do not know what they will or won't be able to use until it is inspected by the vendor but should be covered in the overall expense they Quote. #6 Are the bearings that need replacing, standard or oversize? Unknown until engine opened and inspected. and the vendor should know this. #7 Can the oil pan be removed with the engine in place? or does the engine have to come out of the vehicle to repair it?? No the oil pan will not come off while in the truck If they are asking they don't have the necessary equipment to do the overhaul. And are trying to see if they can shorten their process. #8 I'm sure only the manufacturer can answer some of these questions if we could have the v.i.n number and model of the vehicle we could contact oshkosh for some answers. Engine: Oshkosh T-3000 AAF truck S/N# 10TDK8Z1415069443 Detroit Diesel Model: 8V92TADDEC S/N# DD08VF180316 Date Built: Aug 2000 585 Horse Power, 12.1 Liter #9 Also I noticed there are not injectors, nor turbocharger listed as part of the overhaul, would you like these quoted also? Injectors, injector pump, transfer pump, turbo, water pump and related parts, filters etc. are part of overhaul see question 5
