Description
Upper South Fork Culvert Solicitation Description: Corrugated structural steel plate box bottomless structure, galvanized coated. 30 feet; 25’6” span, 6’-4” rise, structural steel plate box, galvanized coated. HS-25 loading Requirements: Provide 1 structural steel plate bottomless box structure, galvanized coated, with square ends. Structures and assembly fasteners for connecting plates shall conform to AASHTO M 167 for the sizes and types specified. Materials shall comply with the Standard Specifications for Construction of Roads and Bridges on Federal Highways, FP-03. Structure shall meet HS-25 load requirements. The structures shall be able to support the minimum fill for each site identified. The structures shall be durable and require low maintenance. Structure corrugations, for arch structures, shall be 6” x 2”, and the structures shall have end areas large enough to meet our 100-year flood calculations. The structure shall be easy to assemble using conventional construction equipment, i.e. backend loader, excavator, etc. The manufacturer shall provide detailed plans and installation instructions with the proposal, as well as design drawings and calculations for HS-25 load rating. Individual structure pieces shall be marked to correlate with assembly and installation instructions. The structure is planned to be installed in a keyway on reinforced concrete footings¹ which will be buried approximately 2-3 feet below the streambed. The manufacturer shall provide a company representative for on-site project assistance and product support for two days during assembly and two days during backfill for each structure. Concrete footings will be provided by others. Delivery: Unassembled structure (to be assembled by others) shall be delivered to the North Cascades Smoke Jumper Base, 23 Intercity Airport Road, Winthrop, WA. Delivery date shall be no later than June 15, 2009. Contractor shall coordinate with Forest Service Contracting Officer’s Representative for delivery with an agreed delivery date and time verified and agreed in writing by both parties, provided at lease 48 hours in advance of delivery. Forest Service may provide a fork lift for off loading of culverts.
