Description
The Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) Center - Fort Bragg located at Fort Bragg, NC intends to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for Parachute Rigger services at Fort Bragg, NC. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is NAICS 561910 Packaging and Labeling Services and the size standard is $7.0M. The requirement is anticipated to be solicited as a 100% set aside for small business concerns. The following summary is for the purpose of general information and is not intended to include nor describe every feature or item or to define the scope of work. By definition, a parachute rigger is a person who is trained or licensed to pack, maintain or repair parachutes. A rigger is required to understand fabrics, hardware, webbing, regulations, sewing, packing, and other aspects related to the building, packing, repair, and maintenance of parachutes. The contractor shall provide parachute maintenance support on cargo and extraction parachutes and related air items to the 11th Quartermaster (QM) Company, 82d Airborne Division. The contractor shall furnish all personnel, labor, supervision, sewing machines and any other items or services not identified as Government provided with repair parts in order to accomplish repairs IAW standards derived from the appropriate technical manuals and schematics provided with each parachute. A period of performance of one year base period plus two 1-year options is anticipated. The tentative timeframe for issuance of the RFQ W91247-09-T-0277 will be on or around April 20, 2009 with a contract starting date on or around May 14, 2009. This action will be conducted as a commercial service acquisition in accordance with FAR Parts 12 and FAR Part 13.5. The RFQ and amendments, if applicable will be available for downloading at the Army Single Face to Industry website at https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi. Potential offerors are responsible for monitoring this site for release of the solicitation package and any amendments. It is a requirement that all contractors doing business with the Department of Defense be registered with Central Contractors Registry (CCR) per FAR 52.204-7, Central Contractor Registration. The website may be accessed on the Internet at http://www.ccr.gov. No paper copies of the solicitation will be mailed and telephone requests will not be honored.
