Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office, Grand Prairie, Texas, intends to make a single award for the provision of Pharmacy Technician Services for the Federal Correctional Complex, Hopewell, Virginia. The contract type is an indefinite delivery/requirements contract with firm-fixed unit prices. The contract period will consist of a base period from date of award through 12 months, and four one-year option periods for renewal at the discretion of the government. The estimated quantities for the base year and each option year are 1560 sessions per year. A session is defined as one hour. The schedule shall not exceed 30 hours per week. The Contractor will normally work, Monday through Friday (except federal holidays), between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., with a 30 minute unpaid lunch period, (if applicable). The contractor shall be responsible for, but not limited to assisting the Pharmacist in stocking, storing, and dispensing of prescriptions and non-prescription medications, prepare purchase requests to order pharmaceuticals, maintain pharmacy areas in a clean and orderly fashion and stock of appropriate forms utilized in the pharmacy department, perform assessments to include reading prescriptions written by medical staff, determine the medicine prescribed and transcribing data to labels, give inmates instruction on medication. In the absence of the Pharmacist, maintain the Pharmacy operation. Qualifications include, the prospective contractor providing services under this contract award must have graduated from an accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program, must be licensed to practice as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of Virginia, and must have at least one year of experience. Quoters must specifically identify the individual that will be performing these services under any subsequent contract award. The quoter must provide proof that their candidate meets all qualifications. Services will be performed for individuals who are in the custody and care of the Federal Bureau of Prisons within a security correctional environment. The solicitation will be made available on or about April 6, 2009, and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fedbizopps.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. All future information concerning this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will be distributed solely through this website. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. The North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) code is 621399, with a small business size standard of $7.0 million. All contractors doing business with the Federal Government must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. The website for registration is www.ccr.gov. The date for receipt of quotations is on/about May 7, 2009; however, this is a projected estimate and quoters should refer to Page 1 of the solicitation (Block #8) for the actual date quotations are due. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations can submit offers/bids/quotations equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. This solicitation is a total small business set-aside. All responsible small business concerns are encouraged to submit a quotation which may be considered. See Note 1.
