Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Danfysik, Denmark under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) Soliciting From a Single Source, to replace a faulty main power transformer in MPS 855, which includes the following: 408KVA water cooled transformer, 1050 cabinet, water hoses, ¾” water connections, flow switch, input and output terminals and interlock terminals. This item is required to be used by NIST to power a Single-tron radiation magnet. Based on Market Research NIST has not identified any other sources that can provide the required equipment. If NIST identifies no other capable sources by April 20, 2009, NIST will issue a Firm-Fixed Price Purchase Order to Danfysik A/S. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement in writing no later than April 20, 2009. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A determination by the Government to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ).
