Description
The Atomic Spectroscopy Group at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement to obtain a more quantitative understanding of the radiative properties of tungsten and provide collisional-radiative simulations of atomic spectra corresponding to the spectra observed by the NIST Electron Beam Ion Trap (EBIT). The specific tasks pursuant to this effort are described in the Performance Work Statement included in the solicitation. It is anticipated that the solicitation for this procurement will be issued on or about April 15, 2009, under FAR Part 12, Commercial Item Acquisitions utilizing FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The Government anticipates the award of a fixed-priced purchase order on or about May 15, 2009. The purchase order will have a 12-month period of performance to begin at time of purchase order award. The competitive solicitation, all amendments, and any questions and answers related to this procurement will be made available via the internet at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation will only be available via the internet at the above website. Interested parties must respond to the solicitation in order to be considered for award of any resultant purchase order. There is no printed solicitation document available. NIST will not maintain a bidder's list. Telephone requests or questions will not be responded to; all questions must be submitted in writing via email to laura.olesen-berge@nist.gov. To be eligible for award, offerors must be currently registered with the Central Contractor Registration at www.ccr.gov and have completed its representations and certifications at http://orca.bpn.gov. This requirement SET-ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESS ONLY The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 541712 and the size standard is 500 employees.
