Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Emory University's Yerkes National Primate Research Center, 954 Gatewood Road, Atlanta, GA, 30329-4208 for purchase of eight (8) NSPF (non-specific pathogen-free) rhesus monkeys and laboratory tests of same for use in intervention studies in non-human primates to investigate the immunogenicity and protective efficacy of various candidate vaccine antigens in appropriate monkey model systems with emphasis on developing vaccines that are protective in primates with adjuvants suitable for use in humans. This vaccine testing must be performed on naïve animals to obtain reliable data on the effectiveness of the antigens being tested. CDC believes that this requirement is met by only one provider. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 6.302-2. Only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy agency requirements. No solicitation is being issued.
