Description
The Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is an agency established under The Department of Homeland Security (DHS). CBP protects the American people and Nation’s critical infrastructure through the coordinated use of integrated air and marine forces which detect, interdict and prevent acts of terrorism and the unlawful movement of people, illegal drugs and other contraband toward or across the borders of the United States. CBP has a potential requirement for ground school and flight training instruction that meets or exceeds the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) in the following aircraft: •Eurocopter EC120B; •Eurocopter AStar AS350 B2; •Eurocopter AStar AS350 B3; •MD Helicopter MD500 and/or OH-6 Cayuse •Bell Helicopter BH205 and/or UH-1H Iroquois •Raven II (R44) or equivalent CBP requires contractors to possess and maintain the required current certificates of a (FAR) Part 141 Flight School (a provisional Part 141 certificate is unacceptable) and (FAR) Part 142 Training Center if flight training devices/simulators are utilized. The Contracting Officer hereby requests that contractors currently FAA Part 141 certified in the above listed aircraft submit a copy of their FAA Part 141 Certificate. All contractors shall also include the full list of aircraft currently approved for use under the Certificate by (1) type, (2) tail “N” number and (3) the Aircraft Category for each type / tail number listed. Aircraft with categories of (1) Standard, (2) Normal or (3) Utility are acceptable. Any other category is not acceptable. It is requested that this information be submitted to the Contracting Officer via email (joquita.pitt@dhs.gov) Not Later Than 1:00 PM EST April 3, 2009. All questions shall be addressed to joquita.pitt@dhs.gov by 9:00 AM April 2, 2009.
