Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD a contract to Capacity Project-IntraHealth on a noncompetitive basis to conduct of a randomized clinical trial (RCT) in Uganda to evaluate the Impact of Task Shifting Type-II for ART Delivery on Patient and Process. Contracting Office: Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Procurement and Grants Office (Atlanta), 2920 Brandywine Road, Room, 2309, Atlanta 30341-4146, United States. Notice: The purpose of this proposed contract is to conduct a randomized clinical trial (RCT) in Uganda performing public health evaluation of ART task shifting from physicians to nurses. This evaluation will determine whether ART for noncomplex HIV cases can be initiated and monitored by nurses without an increase in adverse events relative to initiation and monitoring by medical officers. Duration: Three (3) years from the date of contract award. Capacity Project has developed a health systems database that includes both ART service delivery data and human resource for health information for each health facility in Uganda. This database contains information regarding both ARTservice delivery and HRH staffing that will be critical for selecting clinical sites for this PHE. Capacity Project-IntraHealth has been identified as the only organization having the requisite knowledge and experience and integrated database in Uganda The North American Industry Classification Code is 541712. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 15 days of publication of this synopsis will be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete based responses received, and to proceed with a noncompetitive award is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
