- NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) intends to issue a Request for Proposals(RFP) for Flight Unit Medium Sun Sensors for the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM)Project. The scope of work for this procurement entails the Contractor providing thefacilities, personnel, services, tools, equipment, and materials to deliver the MediumSun Sensors in accordance with the Statement of Work, Specification, and DeliverableItems List and Schedule. These items will be provided with issuance of the RFP. This procurement will be competed as a total small business set-aside. NASA/GSFC anticipates awarding a Firm Fixed-Price type contract for this effort with ananticipated award date on or about January 2009. The Government does not intend to acquire commercial items using FAR Part 12. See NASASpecific Numbered Note 26 -- this can be accessed at the following URL:http://genesis.gsfc.nasa.gov/nasanote.html. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this procurement is541712 with a corresponding size standard in number of employees of 1,000.The anticipated release date of the RFP is on or about April 9, 2009, with an anticipatedoffer closing date on or about May 11, 2009. The actual due date for receipt of offerswill be stated in the prospective RFP. Upon issuance of the RFP, all qualifiedresponsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered by this agency.
