Description
Installation Access Form Green Expo Acceptance Form This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP). This is a Request for Information (RFI) dated March 25, 2009: The purpose of this RFI is to solicit both federal agency and industry feedback regarding the marketing of environmentally friendly processes, products and ideas. This RFI is to solicit interest from federal agencies, nonprofits and companies to market their concepts and educate attendees at a "Green Expo" fair. If enough interest is expressed, a Green Expo will be held no sooner than 22 April 2009 at the Marina at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. SCOPE: This is an invitation to participate in an Earth day event at Keesler AFB. This announcement serves to solicit businesses, nonprofits and government agencies to showcase ideas and educate consumers at a Green Expo. With the audience anticipated, the strategy arrived at needs to allow for the broadest scope of earth friendly education in order to afford all attendees an opportunity to benefit from ideas exhibited during the Expo. This will be an opportunity for businesses, nonprofits and government agencies to showcase ideas and educate consumers. The purpose is to provide information on environmentally friendly products or processes for everyday living. Exhibitors must show how their agency, process or product lessens our impact on the environment or directly helps the environment. DETAILS: The Earth Day Green Expo will be held at the Marina at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. The Green Expo will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2009. It will start at 8am and end at 1pm. This Green Expo will be open to the 200-300 invited local schoolchildren, plus the base populace and government entities in the Biloxi area. The number of participants will be limited and space will be assigned on a first-come/first-served basis. GREEN EXPO OBJECTIVES: The first objective of this Green Expo is to inform attendees of the many ways they can be more environmentally friendly at home, and at work/school. The second objective of this Green Expo is to afford attendees an opportunity to find ways to incorporate the leading-edge government and commercial technology ideas outlined below: 1. The U.S. Department of Energy has a goal to create the technology and knowledge base for cost-effective zero-energy buildings by 2025. 2. Department of Defense energy goals are much more stringent than the goals identified under the Energy Policy Act of 2005, Executive Order 13423, and the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007. Department of Defense Goals: 3% energy reduction per year for a total of 30% (gas & electric) by 2015, water reduction of 2% per year for a total of 16% by 2015, and a 25% renewable goal by 2025. Exhibitors shall note that no sales of any kind will be made at the Green Expo. Each company, nonprofit and government agency is merely passing on earth-friendly tips and educational information about green products and processes to Expo Visitors. Any costs incurred by the exhibitor will be the responsibility of the exhibitor and/or the exhibitor's represented company. Government reimbursement will not be made for any exhibitor's costs. Exhibitors participating need to identify/submit the following to Marcella Whitfield via fax or email before April 14, 2009: 1. Exhibitors interested in participating must fill out the Entry Authorization Letter (EAL) attached to this RFI with all individuals they would like to attend and the pertinent information required. 2. Exhibitors must fill out the attached Green Expo Acceptance Form completely.
