Description
This procurement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The office of NOAA, National Marine Fisheries Service located in Seattle, Washington requires a contractor to provide reciprocationg liquid chiller ( remove and replace with new ). Two twin pack (30 ton each) Dunham-Bush chillers, model #NSPC30-2HL are in need of replacement. The age of the chillers (over 45 years of service) and damage from recent freezing weather, have made repair impractical and no longer economical. One chiller, and an option for a second chiller. The chillers provide secondary cooling for fish culture operations either via direct cooling of fresh culture water, or indirect cooling of seawater culture water via a titanium plate heat exchanger (currently in place). Required: One liquid cooled twin pack chillers, or two, 15 hp independent units staged in pairs, equivalent to Dunham Bush model # NSPC30-2HL. The extant chillers are equipped with two (2) model 150PHF compressors, which provide (per D-H literature) 135,000 BTU/hr @ 105ºF condensing temperature, @ 40ºF suction temperature. Remove existing units for surplus. Installation and connection of new units to all necessary utilities, including but not limited to: 440VAC power, 120VAC control circuit, cooled glycol or culture water, and condenser water. Connection to, or replacement of, existing controls, such as proof of flow switch, and thermally operated control valves on the condensing water circuit. Charge with refrigerant and test. Work to be completed on or before May 30, 2009. Interested parties must respond to this announcement within fifteen (15) calendar days of its publication. All responses must be in writing and may be faxed to 206-526-6025 or email (melvin.n.fondue@noaa.gov).
