- Description
- The Naval Medical Logistics Command intends to negotiate on a sole source basis (IAW FAR 13.5) with Cryocath Technologies Incorporated, 16771 Chemin Ste-Marie, Kirkland, Quebec, Canada, H9H 5H3, as the one responsible source that can provide a Freezor Cardiac CryoAblation System. Specifically, this system is the only catheter-based cryotherapy system console available and approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This system performs a technique that is similar to a radio frequency system burning technique but instead cryogenically ‘freezes’ the cardiac tissue to ablate the arrhythmia percutaneously. No other catheter-based percutaneous cryoablation system has been approved by the FDA. This proprietary equipment has proven to cause less damage to the surrounding tissue during ablation procedures. Cardiac cryoablation systems based on this technology are the only acceptable systems that meet the Government’s requirements. Specifically, the contractor shall provide: - CCT2. CryoConsole (Quantity 1, Product #104A2) - Auto Connection Box (Quantity 2, Product #2037A) - ECG Cable (Quantity 2, Product #2035W) - White Scavenging Hose 12.0m/40ft (Quantity 1, Product #1035FW) - N2O Refrigerant Tank (full) (Quantity 4, Product #103N2) - North American Power Cord (Quantity 1, Product #1038N) - Wrench (Quantity 1, Product #1036W) - CryoConsole Operator’s Manual for REF 104A2 (Quantity 1, Product #Current) This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures (IAW FAR 13.5). There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 339112 with a Small Business Size Standard of 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice will need to submit technical data sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product. All capability statements received within 15 days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Capability statements shall be submitted by email only as a MS Word or Adobe PDF attachment to Shannon Lertora at shannon.lertora@med.navy.mil. Statements are due by 12:00 PM Eastern Time on 07 April 2009. No phone calls accepted.
