Description
This project consists of the following major work: 1. Building 2207 - Remove ridge from entire building and replace with new cedar ridge cap. Replace all damaged/missing cedar shakes. Clean and treat the entire roof with a penetrating oil finish. 2. Building 2209 - Remove and replace existing composition roof with new composition roof. 3. Building 1312 - Remove and replace existing composition roof with new composition roof. 4. Building 1316 - Remove and replace existing composition roof with new composition roof. Gutters will be replaced, under a separate contract, on buildings 2209, 1312, and 1316. Contractors shall coordinate work schedules to best benefit the government. Refer to existing contract # AG-0489-C-09-0005 “Recovery – Olympic National Forest Roofing Projects” which was awarded to Weatherguard Inc. on March 20, 2009 for additional information. Contract is available on www.fbo.gov Existing Conditions: The indications of existing conditions on the drawings and specifications are the result of on-site facilities inspections, and reviews of incomplete construction and maintenance records. Weather Conditions: Weather conditions: Rain, sometimes heavy, is normal throughout the winter, with periods of light to moderate snowfall. Night freezing is common throughout the winter and several periods of weeklong freezes are likely. Project Location 353 South Shore Road – Quinault, WA 98575 This project is located at the Quinault office of the Pacific Ranger District of the Olympic National Forest, Section in Quinault, Washington. It may be reached by traveling 38 miles north from Hoquiam WA, on US-101 to the South Shore Road, turn right (east) and travel 2.0 miles to the Quinault Ranger Station. Price Range The Government's estimate is between $25,000 and $100,000.
