Description
This announcement serves to publish the government's intent to procure professional services with only one source contingent upon funds availability to Remote Reality Corporation, under FAR 6.302-1. This notice of intent is not a request for quotes. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon potential responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Remote Reality Corporation has been identified by the government due to their technical capability to provide the following services: The U.S. Army Weapons and Software Engineering Center (WSEC) has a need for a contractor with expert knowledge of the design, manufacture and testing of 360 degree cameras, short-wave infrared (SWIR) cameras, and sensor networking. Efforts shall include support for fundamental research into catadioptric 360 degree optical augmentation, a feasibility study into the design and production of such a system, support for initial design work on such a system, and coordination for a proposal for the prototyping of said system. In order for a company to meet the specialized requirements of the SAURON Project, the contractor must possess rights on a 360 degree camera which meets the following two specific technical requirements: first the system is required to be a single camera catadioptric system, and second the system must have refined post-processing of the image already in place (to include "flattening" the image, pixel mapping, and motion tracking capability). These specialized requirements apply due to the unique constraints placed on the camera, as required for the success of the SAURON effort. Please submit responses by email NLT: COB, 04/08/2009 to Mary Watkins at mary_e_watkins@nbc.gov.
