Description
NOTE: This is a combined synopsis/solicitation. This posting constitutes the only solicitation. Quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) at Lakehurst, New Jersey has a requirement for a Cave Automatic Virtual Environment (CAVE) PC graphics visualization cluster system. The system configuration at Lakehurst presently consists of a Fakespace 8’ x 8’ x 8’ CAVE with four projected surfaces (three walls and floor) with four Electrohome Marquee Ultra 8500 projectors and Ascension Flock of Birds tracking system. The present system is driven with a SGI Onyx 3200. It is the intent of NAVAIR to replace the present SGI Onyx 3200 with a new PC-based graphics visualization cluster system. The projection and tracking system components shall remain as integral parts of the CAVE system. A fully integrated system is required and shall include, but not be limited to, all system hardware, software, cabling, switches, and power conditioning equipment and shall be itemized in the proposal. The proposed system shall be fully compatible with the latest version of WorldViz Vizard Virtual Reality Toolkit. In addition, installation and checkout of Vizard and recalibration of the projectors will be required. Major system requirements (per node) include the following: Operating system – Microsoft Windows XP Pro SP2C x64 Performance (minimum) - Quad-core 3.2 GHz, 4GB memory, 2-250GB 7.2 SATA HDD Graphics cards - NVIDIA Quadro FX5800 and G-Sync II Prior experience with integrating PC systems with a CAVE or comparable systems is required. FOB Destination. Inspection /Acceptance at destination. The Government will award one (1) fixed-price contract to the offer constituting the best value to the government. This procurement is set-aside 100% for small business concerns. All contractors seeking an award must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database.
