Description
This is a notice of intent, not a request for a proposal. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Station Support/Simplified Acquisition (SS/SA) Branch, on behalf of the National Institute of Aging (NIA) intends to negotiate and award sole source purchase order to Lifeline Mobile, Inc., 2050 McGaw Road, Columbus, Ohio, 43207-4800 for Upgrade and New Medical Research Vehicles (MRV). Mobile Medical Research Vehicle is to improve participation rates and retention among non-traditional research participants. The Mobile Medical Research Vehicle has the following requirement: 1) Replace slide out with new floor level, 2) Change all RJ-11 jacks to RJ-45 jacks run to punch panel to the ceiling, 3) Install new coaxial cable from modem in front room to reel compartment, 4) Install 8 data jacks in reel compartment run to punch panel to the ceiling, 5) Install new recess foot door at entry door, 6) Inspect freezing of waters to sink, 6) Replace hydraulic for new room extension system, 7) Rewire heater switches in front exam room, 8) Install new base cabinets with countertop in front room 9) Base cabinet (24x36x18), 10) Base cabinet (15x36x18), and 11) Countertop to match. This requirement is for upgrades to existing vehicles and to acquire new vehicles to increase number of vehicles. These vehicles had been customized for National Institute of Aging (NIA) and its patient population. The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition using FAR 13 procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Comments to this announcement, referencing synopsis number is NOI988159 may be submitted to the NIDA, Station Support/Simplified Acquisition Branch, 31 Center Drive, Bldg. 31, Room 1B59, Bethesda, Maryland 20892-2080, and Attention: Jasmine Snoddy, Contract Specialist.
