Contracting Office Address Department of Health and Human Services, Indian Health Service, Navajo Area Office, PO Box 9020, Window Rock, AZ, 86515, UNITED STATES This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought notice and submittal of required answers to the Market Survey Questions for the Navajo Area Indian Health Service (NAIHS). SYNOPSIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. It is a market research tool being used to determine potential sources prior to determining the method of acquisition and issuance of a Request for Proposal. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. The contractor shall provide physician services to cover the Emergency Room Department 24/7 at the Kayenta Health Center (KHC) in Kayenta, Arizona. The Contractor shall provide physicians to perform the necessary medical procedures for patients in a variety of emergency room situations. The Contractor physicians shall provide immediate medical evaluation, examination, diagnosis, treatment, and/or referral of patients who present for care in the KHC emergency services area. The Contractor physician shall provide professional advice to emergency room personnel with regard to professional management of patients being treated and/or hospitalized. Contractor physician care shall cover the range of emergency room care typically provided in a rural civilian practice of similar size. The following list is an example of the types of cases, but is not all-inclusive: Major trauma, including fractures of multiple extremities, stab wounds, open wounds of the chest and abdomen, head trauma, suspected spine injuries, lacerations, amputations; Major medical emergencies such as cardiac arrest, myocardial infarction, respiratory failure, shock; Obstetrical emergencies such as deliveries of single or multiple births, acute pregnancy complications, vaginal bleeding; Pediatric emergencies; and Acute psychiatric problems, including suicide attempts, lower-acuity complaints including viral illnesses, other infections, minor orthopedic problems, minor trauma, alcohol abuse. Physician services to cover the Emergency Room Department 24/7: Provide a brief description of all similar projects that you have performed within the last three years: a. Full knowledge, optimum skill level and a minimum of 5 years experience with all aspects of meeting functional requirements, b. Posses the abilities and competence to provide physician services, c. Demonstrate superiority in physician services. 4. Geographic Coverage: Please identify the areas of the United States where your organization provides these services. 5. References: Provide a list of all private industry or government contracts for similar services that you have performed during calendar years 2006 through 2008. Please include the customers? (contact names, addresses, telephone number, dollar value of contract, and brief description of the services provided on the contract). The Government does not intend to make an award on the basis of this Sources Sought Notice or otherwise pay for the information solicited herein.
