- Description
- Modification 0001 is being issued to extend the proposal time and to provide further guidance and answer the following questions that have been received. The revised closing date is 2:00PM ET on 24 March 2009. The revised anticipated award date is 27 March 2009.Q1. What are the paint requirements? A1. There is not a Mil-Spec/Standard indicated at this time but paint quality shall be suitable for shipboard application. If a Mil-Spec/Standard will be used, then please specify it on the quote. The color should be gray. Q2. RFQ states "Fixed or removable panels are optional for the top, base, and left/right side panels but must be specified in the proposed design." Question - are all the panels themselves to be quoted as options, or is the "fixed or removable" design the option, which is to be specified in the quote which includes the panels. A2. It is optional whether the proposal has fixed or removable panels. Please specify whether the panels will be fixed or removable. Q3. Razorback panels: RFQ states 1-6 for the tall rack and 1-4 for the small rack. Seeing how the number of panels impact price, which will be a key criteria in contract award, I would assume all those bidding are just going to quote 1. Looking for some clarification. A3. The RFQ states that 'Razorback/waterfall configuration preferred but not required.' The more removable sub-panels the better. The more 'razorbacks' with removable sub-panels would be the most desirable. Furthermore the 'Razorback/waterfall configuration preferred but not required' statement shall be applied to both the 18U and 36U cabinets. Q4. The request is showing the racks needing to meet MIL-STD-461, is this meaning the rack must be shielded (RFI/EMI) along with the splash resistant requirement. Please advise. A4. The RFQ indicates that MIL-STD-461 is a 'desirable requirement' and that it 'will be considered in the decision to purchase'. Q5. The request sheet is indicating to supply removable I/O panels 15" - 18" wide. Since this is a standard 19" EIA cabinet can we supply standard 19" wide panels? Also, will these panels be painted the same color as the cabinet? Please advise. A5. The RFQ states, for the larger cabinet, "Rear panel shall have 1 to 6 flat removable I/O panels totaling 15"-to-18"W x 18"-to-30"H." and, for the smaller cabinet, "Rear panel shall have 1 to 4 flat removable I/O panels totaling 15"-to-18"W x 9"-to-14"H." In other words, the rear panel has removable I/O 'sub'-panels. Furthermore the Razorback/waterfall configuration preferred but not required' statement shall be applied to both the 18U and 36U cabinets. Cabinets, panels, and sub-panels should be all the same color. Q.6. Please clarify the actual quantity being purchased. A.6. "NSWCDD will purchase four (4) 19-inch electronic's rack enclosures - two of each, 36U and 18U. NSWCDD intends to purchase all four (4) rack enclosures from the same vendor."
