- The purpose of this announcement is to give potential offerors pre-notification of the upcoming project for Facility Improvements in Preparation for a Tower Simulation System (TSS) at the Technical Operations Center (TOC), located in Denver, Colorado. GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK: Provide all labor, material, and equipment for: -Selective demolition-New partitions-Painting interior walls and door frames-New suspended acoustical ceilings-New carpet tile and resilient base-Modifying the existing wet pipe automatic fire sprinkler system-HVAC system modifications including a new VAV box, ductwork, diffusers, and controls-Electrical work including a new panel, new receptacles, light fixtures, raceways, wiring, etc.-Modification to the existing fire alarm system-Modifications to the auxiliary sound system ESTIMATED SIZE RANGE: $100,000 - $250,000 NOTICE OF SET-ASIDE: This project is set-aside for competition exclusively amongst SEDB/8(a) contractors as certified with the Small Business Administration. NAICS: 238990 REQUEST FOR OFFERS (RFO) PACKAGE: The RFO for this project will be posted to this website on or around March 31st, 2009. The RFO will include all applicable drawings and specifications. Please note - any amendments to the RFO will also be posted to this website. This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
