Description

The Idaho Panhandle National Forest; This solicitation is for the remeasurement of 48 plots (¼ acre in size) on 5 areas that include the Clearwater NF as well as the Coeur d’Alene and Kaniksu NFs and Potlatch Timber Company land. Plots were established in 1969, this will be the 40 yr re-measurement. There are 4 treatments (prune and thin all trees, thin and prune only white pine, thin only, and control). Each plot consists of ¼ ac square plot located within a square 1 ac treatment. All 4 corners of each ¼ ac plot and the 1 ac. treatment are monumented with large metal fence posts and/or heavily flagged. Data will only be collected on the trees within the ¼ ac plot. All trees previously measured should have metal tags with tree numbers at DBH. Trees greater then 5” DBH will be added if not previously measured. There are approximately 50-100 trees per plot with 12 plots per site for a total of 500-1200 trees per site that will need to be measured. A Fixed Price contract that requires the Contractor to furnish all labor, equipment, transportation, supplies, supervision, and incidentals necessary to achieve the objectives. Estimated start work June 2009. Contract time is 120 days. Solicitation will be available approximately April 3, 2009 and will close April 24, 2009.
