- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center, Vicksburg, MS intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to Mount Sopris Borehole Geophysical Logging System This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP)and only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Mount Sopris is the only known system capable of providing the Governments functionality and compatibility to previously purchased equipment. The purchase of other type of products will adversely impact the Governments mission requirements. The requirement is for Borehole Geophysical logging System. The Government intends to acquire this commercial item using FAR Part 6.302-1(2)(iii). Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later that 12:00noon CST on 20 March 2009. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFP will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent. Interested parties may submit any information for consideration by the Government to Elizabeth.j.Kelley@usace.army.mil referencing W912HZ-09-P-0162 in the subject line.
