- Description
- NASA, Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Florida has a requirement to renew an AnnualMaintenance Support Plan for NASA, KSCs existing Thermo Electron instruments located atNASA, KSC. This requirement also includes an Annual Certification certifying allinstruments under the Maintenance Support Plan operate according to the manufacturersspecifications. The Government intends to award a firm-fixed price contract with a oneyear base and four one year options. The provision at FAR 52.217-5 Evaluation of Optionsapplies. NASA, KSC intends to purchase the required Maintenance Support Plan and AnnualCertification from Thermo Electron North America, manufacturer of the instruments, asthey are the only known source that can provide the services required.The Government intends to acquire commercial services using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. EasternTime on March 27, 2009. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely forthe purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitivebasis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a fulland open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within thediscretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
