- This is a notice of intent, not a request for a proposal. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested. National Institute on Drug Abuse, Office of Acquisition-Neurosciences, Station Support/Simplified Acquisition, on behalf of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) intends to negotiate and award a sole source purchase order to the International Association of Physicians in AIDS Care, Inc., 33 N. LaSalle Street, Suite 1700, Chicago, Illinois, 60602-3527 for logistical and administrative support for the "International Conference on HIV Treatment Adherence". The support has the following requirements: 1) Work with the NIMH and co-chairs on the conference program and faculty selection/contact, 2) Coordinate and secure Continuing Education credits, 3) Conduct conference promotions (web links, emailers, advertising, brochures, etc.), 4) Coordinate with co-sponsors to obtain participants lists and/or set goals for promotion, 5) Coordinate and manage contracts (hotel, venue, catering, AV), 6) Coordinate faculty and co-sponsor travel, 7) Coordinate travel for international and domestic scholarship recipients, 8) Develop materials/supplies (secure faculty presentations, signage, binders), 9) Coordinate and payment of on-site activities (registration, AV, hotel, motels, meals, etc.) 10) Handle follow-up activities, and 11) Host and maintain conference materials on IAPAC website post-conference. The period of performance is 8 months. IAPAC is a non-profit organization with over 12,000 physicians as members in over 100 countries. The NIMH is coordinating with the IAPAC for specific sessions to be held with researchers and practicioners. The IAPAC is hosting the annual 2-day conference. The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition using FAR 13 procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government.
