Description

The Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (GFDL), Princeton, New Jersey is issuing an intent to negotiate a sole source procurement with The Mathworks, Incorporated, in support of the existing MATLAB software maintenance, licensing and technical support. The continuity of this software is imperative to GFDL's continued mission essential research programs. The MATLAB software is 100% compatible and will work with the existing system. The statutory authority is: 41 USC 253(c)(1), Only One Responsible Source. The applicable NAICS Code is 511210. The size standard is $25 million. The government intends to award a firm-fixed price purchase order for this requirement. The period of performance is April 1, 2009 through March 31, 2010. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302(c)(1). Interested parties may identify their interest and must provide evidence of their capability to respond to this requirement by March 27, 2009 by 11:00 AM EST. Interested parties may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
