Description

Solicitation DISA/DITCO, intends to award a limited sources purchase order for the rental of a mainframe data mover product to FDRMOVE. The product will be used to move 66TB of mainframe data from old disk units to new disk units which are being acquired as part of a technical refresh project. The old disk units are at the end of their service life. The data must be moved off the old disk units so the disks may be returned to the leaser. If the data cannot be moved off the disks quickly, the additional cost for the disks will far exceed the cost of this product. FDRMOVE can be acquired as a software "rental". The vendor realizes that many sites want to acquire the software as a tool for a specific migration project. The software is priced by the number of TB of data to be moved and the number of days the product is to be used. The basic rental period is 90 days. The price quotes which were obtained were based on a total data load to be moved of 66TB.
