- Event Overview. The B-52 Training Systems program office from the Ogden Air Logistics Center's 507th Aircraft Sustainment Squadron (507 ACSS) will be hosting a two-day Industry day event at Barksdale Air Force Base, LA from 25-26 Mar 09. The event will be held between 0900 and 1500 each day. The purpose of this event is to present interested parties with the opportunity to gain familiarity with the B-52 aircrew and maintenance training systems and the associated Trainer Software Support Center (TSSC) in preparation for release of a Request For Proposal for Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) for the simulators and trainers listed in the following paragraphs. Event Schedule. Wednesday, 25 March 09 will begin with a program overview presented by the 507 ACSS, followed by a brief open forum question and answer session. The first day's activities will conclude with a guided tour of the TSSC and the B-52 aircrew and maintenance training systems located at Barksdale AFB followed again by an open form question and answer period. Thursday, 26 March 09 is reserved for one-on-one discussions. One-on-one discussions will be scheduled at the time of RSVP and will be limited to 30 minutes. Event Registration. Interested parties must RSVP no later than 16 March 09. Attendance is limited to no more than three (3) individual attendees per interested company. Submit RSVP to the event point of contact: Catherine Wolfe at Catherine.Wolfe@hill.af.mil with reference in the subject line: B-52 Training Systems Industry Day RSVP. Additional event information such as visit request procedures and directions to the meeting location will be provided to each company expressing intent to attend this event. Interested parties are encouraged to present questions to the program office in advance of the event to optimize the event's question and answer session. Program office receipt of questions on or before 18 March 09 will facilitate a thorough response. Program Overview. The B-52 Training Systems program requires end-to-end system maintenance, logistics, modification, and procurement in order to ensure simulator availability to train Air Combat Command's (ACC) B-52 aircrew and maintenance professionals. Contracted activities will include Aircrew Training Devices (ATD) procurement, concurrency modifications, system upgrades, and extensive system configuration management. The ATDs simulate the necessary visual, radar, motion and aural cues to provide ground training to aircrew members. The ATD devices currently supported consist of 3 complex Weapon System Trainers (WST) (1 Minot AFB, 2 Barksdale AFB), 2 Offensive Station Mission Trainers (OSMT) (Barksdale AFB), 1 Cockpit Procedures Trainer (CPT) (Barksdale AFB), and 4 Electronic Warfare Simulators (EWS) (3 Barksdale AFB, 1 Minot AFB) and Communication Part Task Trainer (COM PTT) (2 Minot AFB, Barksdale AFB). In addition, the B-52 training system program will gain the responsibility of providing maintenance, logistics, and modification support for the B-52 maintenance training devices. Any comments provided should not be viewed as a vehicle for presenting a specific approach to be proposed but as an opportunity to improve an eventual solicitation package. This does not constitute a request for proposal. To ensure everyone has access to the same information, non-proprietary questions and answers will be recorded and placed on the web (FedBizOpps) following the event.
