- Description
- NASA/JSC has a requirement for Three Desiccator Storage Cabinets.NASA/JSC intends to purchase the items from Terra Universal, Inc. The Desiccator StorageCabinets are constructed of clean smooth electro-polished stainless steel that is easilycleaned. The purpose for the Desiccator Storage Cabinets is for storing extraterrestrialsamples in curation cleanrooms at the Antarctic Meteorite Processing Lab. The relativelyfew additional construction materials are also acceptable materials (including glass andviton) of construction. The MPL cleanrooms are Class 1000 and utilize only stainlesssteel, glass, aluminum and teflon. The desiccators must be capable of having nitrogenlines added to each individual desiccators box. Terra Universal, Inc. is considered the only responsible source uniquely qualified tofulfill the requirements.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 1:30 p.m. local timeon March 23, 2009. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
