Description
Directorate of Contracting (DOC), Fort Campbell, KY, has a requirement for removal and pack one end panel with BI-FOLD doors and replace with one each solid 80 foot x 120 foot solid end panel with one each 30 inches x 80 inches personnel door centered. Includes all supports and uprights for 160th SOAR, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. The procurement will be conducted on a sole source basis in accordance with the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1) as implemented by FAR 13.5. The agency intends to enter into a firm-fixed-price purchase order with Alaska Structures Inc., located in Anchorage, AK. The basis for restricting competition is that Alaska Structure Inc. is the manufacturer of repair parts required for replacement of BI-FOLD panel and must be manufactured by hangar manufacturer to insure compatibility and safety of structure. NAICS code for this procurement is 332311 and number of employees is 500. This sole source requirement will be procured under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition, and awarded on an unrestricted basis. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE OFFERS and solicitation will not be issued; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 5 days from the date of the publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence (descriptive literature with generic specifications) must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with requirements listed. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion for the Government. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the source negotiation with Alaska Structures Inc, Anchorage, AK. Responses are due by 16 March 2009, 3:00 P.M. (CST).
