- Description
- The VA Medical Center, 508 Fulton St., Durham, North Carolina is seeking potential sources capable of providing on-site Intraoperative Neurophysiology Monitoring (IOM)Service to include a technician and equipment to complement the neurosurgical service team at Durham, North Carolina, VA Medical Center. The neurophysiology technician performs testing and monitoring of the nervous system during brain and spinal tumor resections surgery to assist the surgeons in avoiding or reducing complications such as paralysis, hearing loss, or stroke (depending on type of surgery) by detecting incipient injury in time to prevent or ameliorate it. Estimated annual quantity is 50 cases per year. The place of performance of such services shall occur in the Operation Rooms at the Durham VAMC. The IOM technician shall provide the appropriate equipment necessary to conduct such monitoring in the operating room, connect monitoring electrodes to the patient, and intraoperatively monitor the patient during the brain/spinal tumor procedure. It is essential that the technician be familiar with Duke University equipment and personnel so as to provide timely and accurate service without the need for additional training on local equipment and processes. The contractor would be notified NLT 2 business days in advance for elective cases by Durham Neurosurgery and would respond directly to the assigned physician NLT 1 business day in advance regarding availability. On emergent cases the contractor would be notified as quickly as is reasonably possible by Durham Neurosurgery and would respond directly to the assigned physician within 4 hours regarding availability. Technicians providing IOM service under this contract shall be required to maintain all necessary credentials and experience necessary to meet all state requirements and make documents available as required (e.g.., CNIM certification). The applicable NAICS Code is 621111 with a size standard of $10Million. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. Responses to this sources sought notice should include the following: name and address of company; business size (large or small); identify whether or not firm falls into any of the following socioeconomic categories - 8(a), HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran-Owned; firm's experience in providing IOM service in a professional setting and any other pertinent information, which demonstrates ability to meet the above requirement.
