- Material Specialist This is a follow-on requirement as a Performance Based Statement of Work (PBSOW) is to acquire logistics support services for the Naval Special Warfare Command (NSWC) Detachment Annapolis located in Hanover, MD. These services will help NSWC meet its mission of providing high quality logistics supply support to the Advanced SEAL Delivery System (ASDS) and other programs as required. Provide logistics support analysis. Prepare, manage, and monitor logistics support involving automated support systems, maintenance planning, support and test equipment, technical and logistics data, facilities support, and supply support. Prepare logistics support documentation and source data, such as operational management/user documents, integrated logistics support plans, user logistics support summaries, and logistics implementation plans. Implement logistics plans, databases, and support files to support the fielding of complex systems or major modifications. Period of Performance: 9 May 09 through 22 September 09 Scope: The contractor shall function as a Commander Naval Special Warfare Command (WARCOM) representative responsible for the acceptance and cataloging of all ASDS Residual Material turned over to NSWC DET-Annapolis and other miscellaneous activities. The contractor shall be responsible for attending various programmatic and technical meetings in support of program activities. The contractor shall keep respective WARCOM representatives informed of issues, priorities, and upcoming events. The contractor shall perform managerial and/or administrative tasks associated with analyzing, developing, evaluating, and promoting improvements in policies, plans, methods, procedures, and systems associated with the receipt, inspection, and warehousing of ASDS material. Services Required: Keep WARCOM's N8 Department informed of issues and priorities associated with the ASDS program and other programs as required. Provide meeting notes/minutes and track action items. Review and track ASDS Residual Material. Lead and perform various logistics duties concerned with the ASDS construction, repair, design improvements, research and development. Draft official correspondence for NSWC, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), and Northrop Grumman Corp. (NGC). Develop and maintain total Residual Material ownership cost initiatives and ongoing assessments. Assist with content and format of presentation material. Maintain and update Life Cycle cost modeling. Utilize the model for various predictions and trade-off studies. Interface with NGC, NAVSEA Planning Yards, Shipyards, Ships Forces, SEAL Teams, U. S. Special Operations Command, Contracting Officer, Quality Assurance, Production, outside contractors, and other engineering personnel to resolve schedules, technical and systems interface problems for all assigned systems/projects. Assess existing research and development achievements. Adapt and develop these achievements for utilization in new projects on the ASDS programs. Possess familiarity with forklift operations, proper lifting techniques, packaging, etc. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products. Must be able to stand or kneel in warehouse environment for extended periods of time. Minimum Requirements for Material Management Specialist II Ability to obtain a secret security clearance. Proficiency in inventory/warehousing principles. Organizational skills. Demonstrates the ability to work independently and in groups. Good writing Skills. Ability to attend meetings and record notes/minutes. Flexible with respect to working hours. Demonstrates experience in logistics and quality assurance. Familiar with forklift operations. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Product.
