Description
SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS. This request is an announcement for information/market research for planning purposes. The synopsis does not constitute a request for proposal, request for quote, invitation for bid nor does its issuance in any way restrict the Government as to its ultimate acquisition approach. The 377th Contracting Squadron, Kirtland AFB, New Mexico, is seeking potential sources to provide: HIGHYAG Repair 90900010 HIGHYAG laser light cable Item number: 11-47-04-5512 Serial number: LLKDAR06025 Changed material: 1 x renew (laser side) 1 x rebuild (optic side) 10 m x new fiber with AR-coating Damage report: fiber damaged at optic end In 2006 the Nuvonyx Corporation supplied the Air Force Research Lab/RDLO with state-of-the-art high power laser diodes. The power is delivered by fiber optic cables manufactured by High Yag. Recently one end of the High Yag fiber failed in a catastrophic manner. This action is to have the fiber end repaired. RDLAF Lab 120 in Bldg 760 on Kirtland Air Force Base is the site of the high power laser diodes. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPORSALS (RFP). Firms responding to this announcement should include company name, cage code, point of contact, address and indicate whether they are a small business, 8(a) concern, veteran-owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business, or women-owned small business. For the purposes of being considered a small business, the following applies: NAICS Code 333314, Size Standard 500 employees. The Government reserves the right to set-aside any subsequent acquisition based upon known sources and/or responses to this synopsis.
