Description
The US Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District is seeking small business sources for a construction project entitled, Lower Granite Central Non-Overflow (CNO) and North Non-Overflow (NNO) Elevator Rehabilitation, Garfield County, Washington. This will be a firm-fixed-price contract. Construction magnitude is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The period of performance is 372 calendar days. A bid bond of 20% or $3,000,000, whichever is less, will be required. 100% Performance and payment bonds will be required. The Statement of Work includes the following: Provide all plant, labor, equipment, materials and incidentals to refurbish two elevators at Lower Granite Dam and Powerhouse near Pullman, WA, the CNO and NNO elevators. Work includes shaft repairs, new electrical controls, motors, car walls, call stations and alterations to bring the elevator machinery rooms and the elevator shafts up to current code. The elevator machine rooms will require air conditioning; elevator shafts will require ventilation and seismic upgrades. The elevators are located in different parts of the dam; each has about a 120 foot deep shaft and is in poor condition. Work will be preformed sequentially on the elevators. One of the two elevators must be in service at all times. Contractor is required to follow the procedures in the Army Corps of Engineers Safety Manual, at http://www.hq.usace.army.mil. At the Headquarters homepage, select Safety and Occupational Health. This sources-sought announcement is a tool to identify small business concerns with the capability to accomplish the work. Only those firms who respond to this announcement by submitting a statement of their current or past technical experience (what the firm has done) and current or past performance (how well the firm did it) similar to or the same as the requirements stated above, will be used in the determination whether to set aside this requirement for small business.
