- Amendment 4: The purpose of this amendment is to change the product service code to J019. The date for responses remains the same.Amendment 3: The purpose of this amendment is to extend the period of this synopsis from February 26, 2009 until March 4, 2009 by 5:00 pm EST. No other requests for RFQ's will be honored beyond this extended date.Amendment 2: The purpose of this amendment is to continue the synopsis, all requests for an RFQ should come within 15 days of this amendment to whiting.courtney@epa.gov, in addition this amendment sets this requirement aside 100% for small business, the size standard is 1000 employees. This amendment also is to inform the offerors that a site visit will be available for viewing of the vessel which is located at NOAA Marine Operations Center, C/O EPA Ship Lake Explorer-II, 439 West York Street, Norfolk, VA, 23510.Amendment 1: The purpose of this amendment is to place this synopsis on hold for additional clarification. In accordance with FAR Part 12 Commercial Acquisition Procedures, the U.S. EPA ORD requires dry dock repairs of the EPA Research Vessel (formerly the NOAA Ship RUDE).The contractor shall provide temporary drydocking and drydock services in accordance with the necessary specifications including: drydock ship repair contract work on EPA ships, treated sewage holding and transfer system services, underwater body coating, color LCD Sounder installation, tailshafts and bearings inspection, sea valve overhauls, installation of transducer well/seachest, hull inspection ultrasonic tests, deck plate renewal under boiler, and fuel tank vent catch basins. This procurement will be 100% set-aside for small business. The applicable NAICS code is 336611. Award will be made using a trade-off?s basis. All responsible sources considering themselves qualified may submit a quote which shall be considered by the Agency. Any firm believing itself capable of providing the required drydocking and drydock services must request a copy of the RFQ in writing within fifteen (15) days of electronic posting of this notice, prior to February 26, 2009. Requests should be submitted in writing to Courtney Whiting via email at whiting.courtney@epa.gov. Telephone responses and fax responses will not be honored.
