Description: Description: 1 EA Generator: (300kW 480V 3 phase 60htz 400amp breaker 500+/- gal subbase double wall fuel tank with block heater and battery charger) generator, gen. mounting anchors whether it be brackets or bolts, re-connecting the existing wiring- which includes the block heater, battery charger and emergency startup wires connected to the transfer switch, reconfiguring the existing plumbing leading to the 2000gal fuel tank which sits parallel w/ the generator, conducting a facility load and phase test. All crane operations, removal and replacement, will be performed by the Government. Q)Are there more details about installation of the generator. A)SEE ABOVE Q)Such as any excavation or forming of a pad for the generator to sit on need to be done? A) only if the dimensions for the replacement generator exceed the current concrete pad. Q) Any securing of the generator? A)Yes, replacement generator will need to be securely anchored in place. Q)Any cranes needed to set the generator in a certain position. A)No, the Government will provide along with rigging Q) Any hooking up to a transfer switch. A)No, existing wiring is already in place; however a phase and facility load test must be performed. Q) Is the generator to be installed indoors? A)No Q) If outside, a weather-proof enclosure would be required. Is sound attentuation required? A)Yes, weather-proof enclosure with standard outdoor exhaust system. Q)The Synopsis/solicitation includes the word installation. If this is required, are there any drawings and specifications relating to this? A)No, site visit is recommended. Q)Are there any actual specification requirements on the generator other than what is listed? A)Depends on the replacement generator manufactured. Q)What is the period of performance, how many days? A)Emergency generator should be capable of running 24/7. Q) Is there a specific date by which you need this product in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD A) Delivery between seven (7) to ten (10) weeks after date of award. Site Visit: Monday, March 16, 2009 @ 11:00AM EST. Directions from I-95. 152 south (Magnolia Rd.) to Aberdeen Proving Ground, Edgewood Area Gate (straight ahead). You will need to sign in at the main gate. Follow road thru gate (magnolia which turns into Ricketts Point). This will take you to a guard gate for down range (Post#10 by range control). The offeror is advised proposed site visit will require offeor to gain authorized access to a controlled area within Aberdeen Proving Ground, therefore attendees are restricted to U.S. Citizens only. Failure to visit the job site will not disqualify an offer; however, the offeror acts at his/her own risk and will not be relieved from complying with the terms and conditions of any resultant contract by reason of such failure. In no event will a failure to inspect the site constitue grounds for a claim after award of the contract.
