- The Space and Naval Warfare SystemsCenter (SPAWARSYSCEN) Atlantic(Code 51620) is seeking productinformation about currently availablecommercial-off-the-shelf fixed licenseplate recognition (LPR) systems thatmeet the needs of law enforcement.The fixed LPR systems shall becomprised of a suite of componentsincluding cameras, software, computerprocessor, display, and databases thatwork together to capture, recognize,and store United States license platedata. The cameras shall be designedfor permanent mounting in a fixedlocation, such as a utility pole.Market research is being performed forthe National Institute of Justice (NIJ) toprovide the law enforcementcommunity with information aboutimportant products and services. Allinformation received will be treated aspublic knowledge and may be used inNIJ projects and reports. Therefore,vendors should not submit proprietaryinformation in response to thisrequest. This RFI is for informationgathering and planning purposes only,and should not be construed as aRequest for Proposal (RFP) orsolicitation of an offer. TheGovernment does not intend to awarda contract on the basis of this RFI orotherwise pay for the informationsolicited.Submittal RequirementsComplete the attached productsummary questionnaire(FIXED_LPR_RFI_pub_0001) for eachproduct. Submit completedquestionnaires tomatthew.haase@navy.mil.
