Description
The Office of the Product Manager, Close Combat Systems (PM-CCS), and the U.S. Army Research, Development, and Engineering Command, Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (RDECOM-ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ in coordination with the Office of the Product Manager, Close Combat Weapons Systems (PM-CCWS) and U.S. Army Missile Research, Development and Engineering Center (RDECOM-AMRDEC), are currently seeking sources for technologies related to the capability required by Soldiers to defeat multiple targets with a disposable lightweight shoulder launched munition (SLM) capable of being fired from enclosures. The current inventory of SLM systems provides a capability against light armor and personnel within bunkers and behind masonry walls or within caves. However, these systems combined collectively do not provide the confined space firing capability to defeat personnel in bunkers, behind masonry walls, or within caves. We are seeking technologies to bridge this gap recognized in present systems as well as reduce the weight of the system to an objective of 12 pounds in order to provide the Soldier with a disposable confined space firing capability able to destroy fortified/hardened enemy positions, light armor and the ability to defeat the personnel within them. All responsible interested sources are encouraged to submit their capabilities qualification data in regard to the above no later than 30 days of this notice. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. Please include company name, address, telephone number, technical point of contact, and brochures/literature. Interested firms should adequately describe their experience in shoulder launched munitions technology. This is a market survey for informational and planning purposes only. This is not a solicitation and does not obligate the government to issue a solicitation.. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey. All responding sources should submit their responses no later than xxxx December 2008 to JM&L LCMC Close Combat Systems Contracting Center, Attn: Mr. Thomas Dougherty, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806- 5000. Responses can also be submitted by email to the following email address: tom.dougherty@us.army.mil. It should be noted that telephone responses will not be accepted.
