Description
SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS. This request is an announcement for information/market research for planning purposes. The synopsis does not constitute a request for proposal, request for quote, invitation for bid nor does its issuance in any way restrict the Government as to its ultimate acquisition approach. The 377th Contracting Squadron, Kirtland AFB, New Mexico, is seeking potential sources to provide: The Air Force has a requirement for a set of up to three (3) tunable Magnetrons. All three (3) may not be awarded and the award may be split. These tubes will be powered by a Universal Magnetron Power Supply to be procured separately. Items should be standard product. Item 1: A Magnetron with minimum 200 MHz tuning range 500 MHz preferred centered anywhere in the range of 3.9 to 4.1 GHz. Manual tuning is acceptable. Minimum power of 350 kWatt with 500 kWatt preferred. Minimum duty cycle of 0.001, 0.002 preferred. Output WR-229 waveguide. Air cooled. Item 2: A Magnetron with 1GHz tuning range centered anywhere in the range of 9.0 to 9.5 GHz. (9.5 GHz preferred) Manual tuning is acceptable. Minimum power of 250 kWatt with 450 kWatt preferred. Minimum duty cycle of 0.001, 0.002 preferred. Output waveguide WR-112 or WR-90. Air cooled. Item 3: A Magnetron with 2 GHz tuning range centered anywhere in the range of 16.0 to 17.0 GHz. Manual tuning is acceptable. Minimum power of 100 kWatt with 200 kWatt preferred. Minimum duty cycle of 0.001, 0.002 preferred. Output WR-62 waveguide. Air cooled. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPORSALS (RFP).
