Description
This announcement is for market research and does NOT constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP). The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this Request for Information (RFI), or to otherwise pay for the information solicited. This RFI is issued for the purpose of gaining knowledge regarding the various types of methods and processes available to repair replace and/or modify an Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) roof system that currently exists on a building leased by the agency. The approximate square footage area of the roof system is 25,000 sq. ft. divided in areas located in multiple levels [some above the second floor, some above third floor, some at the seventh floor and some at eight floor levels]. The current EPDM roof system is about 15 years old and has significant deterioration, wear and tear mostly resulting from on-going research and development activities on the roof and lack of periodic maintenance. The existing EPDM roof system is either above conditioned/occupied space such as offices, hallways or laboratories, and/or above unconditioned space such as mechanical or electrical rooms and stairs. The agency is interested in receiving information regarding the different options available to repair, replace and/or modify the roof system to make it more energy efficient and weather proof. Along with the various options, information regarding typical commercial warranties on various products should be included. Information should also include the vendor?s business status (e.g. large, small, small disadvantage, minority-owned, 8(a), SDVOB, etc.). The EPA requests this information be provided no later than March 17, 2009. If a site visit is required before supplying such information, the project officer will be available the last week of February and the second week in March. Please contact the contract specialist for further information.
