The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM) PMA-265 intends to award a firm fixed price, sole source contract for a base year and two option years to General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products Inc. (GDATP), 128 Lakeside Avenue, Burlington, VT 05401-4985 to procure M61A2 20mm Automatic Gatling Gun Systems for the F/A-18E/F aircraft. It is estimated the Navy will procure approximately 65 units over a three (3) year period to support Domestic requirements. This contract will also contain in-service engineering and technical support of the M61A2 20mm Gun System. The Government intends to negotiate the contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. GDATP is the only known company that possesses the engineering expertise and personnel necessary to perform the efforts associated with this procurement. GDATP also possesses the technical and proprietary data associated with the M61A2 Gun System. The estimated award date for this contract is 30 September 2009. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Note: Contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database to be eligible for contract award or payment from any DoD activity. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government is not committed nor obligated to pay for the information provided and no basis for claims against the Government shall arise as a result of this synopsis.
