- Description
- This announcement is for market research and does NOT constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP). The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this Request for Information (RFI), or to otherwise pay for the information solicited. This RFI is issued for the purpose of gaining knowledge regarding the various types of environmentally friendly shuttle bus services available. One shuttle bus would be required with seating capacity of 18-26 passengers plus 2 wheelchairs. Buses must be accessible to individuals with disabilities. A back-up bus must also be available in case the main bus cannot be used. The current contract for Shuttle Buses on the Environmental Protection Agency campus at Research Triangle Park utilizes buses run on only on gasoline. In keeping with the EPA?s mission, it is desired that the new contract utilize environmentally friendly vehicles. Furthermore, the current contract leases and maintains the vehicles while a separate contract provides drivers of the vehicles. It is the agency?s desire to combine these into one ?turn-key? contract. The agency is interested in receiving information regarding companies that can provide environmentally friendly shuttle bus vehicles along with the required maintenance and drivers for the vehicles. Although a hybrid vehicle (i.e. gas-electric) is the agency?s preference, the term ?environmentally friendly? can include various factors including the use of alternative fuels or anything else that can be shown to have less of a carbon footprint than typical gas operated vehicles of the same size. A demonstration of bus capabilities on our campus at Research Triangle Park would be welcomed. If a company wishes to set up such a demonstration please contact the contract specialist listed below. The EPA requests that information on companies providing the above services be provided no later than March 5, 2009. Please include description of vehicles, driving services and maintenance information along with information regarding vendor?s business status (e.g. large, small, small disadvantage, minority-owned, 8(a), SDVOB, etc.). Please provide information via mail, fax or email to the following: John Powell, Contract SpecialistPhone:919-541-3651Fax: 919-685-3426Powell.john@epa.gov
