Description
The U.S. Department of Labor is seeking qualified firms to provide design and construction administration for a child development center at the New Orleans Job Corps Center located in New Orleans, Louisiana. We are looking for qualifying firms that qualify under the Small Business Programs mentioned in the Federal Acquisition Regulation Subpart 19. When submitting your response, please indicate under which programs you meet the criteria. This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT for planning purposes only. Market research is being conducted to determine if there are small businesses with the capabilities and experience to perform the required work. The work requires architectural/engineering (A/E) services for the design and construction administration for a child development center. The building will be approximately 6,700 gross square feet. Due to the history of flooding at the site, the child development center shall be at the same elevation as the main building of the New Orleans Job Corps Center. The work shall include design of miscellaneous site improvements in the form of general landscaping, roads, parking, drainage, connection to all utility lines, site/security lighting and ramps, platforms and steps for access to the new building. The work shall be designed to comply with DOL requirements for high performance sustainability goals. The A/E firm shall attend public hearings and prepare submittal documents for obtaining conditional zoning for the property for a Commercial Child Day Care Center. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 541310, and the Small Business Size Standard is $4.5 million. All interested parties are invited to submit a capabilities statement to include three projects completed within the last five years that are relevant to the work that will be required under this project. Provide a point of contact for each project listed. Your capabilities statement shall be submitted to Ms. Monica Gloster, Contract Specialist, U.S. Department of Labor, OASAM, BOC, OPS, Division of Job Corps A/E and Construction Services, 200 Constitution Ave., Rm. N-4308, Washington, DC 20210. Responses are due March 4, 2009 by 2:00 p.m. EDT. Electronic copies of capabilities statements can be emailed to gloster.monica@dol.gov. No telephone calls will be accepted. PLEASE NOTE: THIS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL.
