Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, National Acquisition Center, Bldg 37, Hines, IL is conducting market research for Electrical Construction contractors that are classified under the following socio-economic programs: Service-Disable Veteran-Owned Small Business, SDVOSB, Veteran-Owned Small Business, VOSB, HuBzone and 8(a). All Interested concerns must be registered in CCR and ORCA. SDVOSB and VOSB's must also be registered in Vetbiz. The anticipated procurement is between $1M and $5M and the NAICS Code 238210 and size standard $14M are applicable. The proposed work encompasses the removal and replacement of 4 of the 5 main electric transformers and some of the associated circuitry that serves the approximately 500,000 square foot facility. Work shall be phased with some tasks performed concurrently over approximately 9 to 12 months. Also included is the removal and replacement of the main electrical panels. The proposed solicitation for this work is planned for issuance in March or April 2009 with an anticipated award in April or May 2009. Firms having the skills, qualifications and capabilities to perform this work are invited to provide information to contribute to this market survey which will assist in planning for the method of procurement. Responses must include 1. Company Name, Address, Point of Contact, Phone Number, Fax Number, E-mail Address, DUNS Number, Small Business Category, Evidence from surety of bonding capacity, Construction experience as a prime contractor with projects of similar size and complexity, and Demonstrated capability in performing 25% of the work with own employees. All interested contractors who can meet the requirements stated above should respond in writing to katherine.mcclendon@va.gov no later than 1:00pm, Friday, February 27, 2009. Again, this is not a Request for Proposal. Information requested is for planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, as the Government will not pay for any contractor incurred costs in response to this Requests for Information.
