Combined Synopsis/Solicitation: Autopsy Assistant Technician The proposed contract action is for a commercial service, for which the Naval Medical Center San Diego intends to solicit as 100% small business set-aside under the authority of FAR 6.203. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial service prepared in accordance with FAR 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This solicitation is issued as a request for quote (RFQ). The government will only consider firm fixed price quotations. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is N00259-09-T-0036. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through FAC 2005-17. It is the contractors responsibility to be familiar with the applicable clauses and provisions. CLIN 0001 Non-Personal Services for an Autopsy Assistant Technician to include the following services performed in accordance with the attached Statement of Work:- Per Diem Diener service as scheduled by the pathologist (365 days a year)- Training Pathology Residents on organ removal procedures.- Preparation and set up of instruments and decedents.- Weighing of decedents.- Tissue container and cassette labeling.- Toxicology sample labeling, sealing and freezing.- Incision and removal of organs/tissue as required by Pathologists.- Weighing and measuring of organs/tissue.- Complete suturing of decedents.- Clean up of instruments, decedents, autopsy table and morgue.- Proper storage of instruments and decedents.- Morgue supplyu inventorying.- Sharpening of morgue instruments (knives and straight edge scissors).- Services will be provided for a fixed monthly retaining fee with no additional per case fee except for cases involving Creutzfeld-Jacob Disease (CJD) in which an additional fee of $ per case will be levied.
