Description
The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c), with Georgetown University to further work performed in research of the toxcity and inhibition of the toxicity of botulinum neurotoxins. Services are required for the USA Med Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) at for Detrick. Georgetown University is uniquely qualified to meet the Governments need due to its technical knowledge of the requirement and personnel familiarity with the progress make towards the discovery of small molecule inhibitors that effectively neutralize the toxic activity of botulinum neurotoxin. The period of performance will be twelve months, with work to be performed at Georgetown University. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, responses received by February 27, 2009, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a future competitive procurement.
