Description
Notice of Intent to Sole Source - Purchase of Prototype Muzzle Projectile Sensors The U.S. Army US Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Aberdeen Installation Contracting Division intends to award a sole source fixed-price purchase order under authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1, Other Than Full and Open Competition procedures and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, for the acquisition of the upgraded muzzle projectile sensors produced by Phoenix Technolgies, Battle Ground, WA for the U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center. This acquisition is required to support the ATC by replenishing current prototype sensor stock for additional testing by ATC and the OEM. This procurement is considered follow-on prototype testing from original contract W91ZLK-08-P-1120. Being that Phoenix Technologies is the only manufacturer that possesses the rapid integration skills required to meet US Army needs, the RDECOM Aberdeen Installation Contracting Division has decided to award this purchase order as a sole source acquisition. No solicitation or Request for Quote (RFQ) is available for this procurement. Nevertheless, any firm that believes it is capable of meeting the requirements described herein may submit a response no later than February 18, 2009, 12:00 PM to be considered. Responses to this posting must submitted in writing via e-mail only. A determination not to compete the described purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Federal Government. Any questions or comments should be directed to Thomas Campana, Acquisition Project Officer via e-mail at thomas.campanajr@us.army.mil.
