Description
Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN) Atlatntic, Charleston, SCis responsible for the acquisition of the advanced Signal Intelligence (SIGINT) Equipment Radio Battalion Modifications (RadBn Mods) Program. The RadBN Mods program is the focus of this notice prior to the issuance of Class J&A N65236-09-DO-0040. SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic, Charleston, SC intends to award, on a sole source basis, multiple purchases for the United States Marine Corps (USMC) RadBn Mods SIGINT Program Allocated Baseline during the period of 1 June 2009 through 31 May 2012. The total estimated amount of these purchases is $49.5 million. Attachment A identifies the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and the major subsystems and components to which this synopsis applies. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only the Attachment A sources under the authority of FAR 6.302. While this synopsis serves as notice of the Governments intent to acquire this equipment from the sources listed in Attachment A, it does not preclude the Government from acquiring equipment through other procurement strategies which may better serve the Governments needs. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, interested parties may express their interest and capability to respond to the requirements. In those situations where the Government determines that identical parts are available from more than one source, these acquisitions will be competed among the identified sources. A determination by the Government not to compete these proposed contract actions, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice is due 10 days from the date of this publication. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether respondents should be added to Attachment (A).
