- DESCRIPTION: Department of Veterans Affairs, R. L. Roudebush VA Medical Center, 1481 W. 10th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202 intends to negotiate a Sole Source procurement with Siemens Building Technologies Inc., 6200 Technology Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46278. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-1-only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Solicitation incorporates provisions and clauses as those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-30. A justification for other than full and open competition has been prepared in support of this acquisition. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation issued; a separate written solicitation will NOT be issued on FedBizOpps. Request for Proposal is RFP VA-251-09-RP-0125. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 238210 and the small business size standard is 13.5 Mil. This procurement is to provide and install six new parking gates to include pedestal mounts for the readers/intercoms, 1 LCD monitor and new software for console. Work also includes controllers and in ground loops. Control wiring to be installed in separate rigid 1" inch conduit with Cat5E control cable. The control work shall be tied into the central control system, and tied into the existing monitor/console security system in the police operations room. All components must be compatible with the security alarm system, and the new total facility lock down system. Contractor shall provide Fire Stop in accordance with facility LSC Drawings. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with drawings, specifications and the Statement of Work. Prior security equipment installations were provided by Siemens, and any equipment installed by other vendors will void the warranty and may not interface with current system.This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government shall consider all proposals and information received by 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time February 23, 2009. Information received shall be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether a competitive procurement is a viable option No solicitation document exists and no telephone inquiries shall be accepted.
